Charles "Jake" C. Sutton, Jr.

Charles C. “Jake” Sutton, Jr., 70 of North East, MD, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.

A lifelong resident of Cecil County, he was born in Elkton, on October 12, 1948, the son of the late Charles C. Sr. and Sarah Jane (Armour) Sutton.

Jake retired 2 years ago after 34 years of service with George & Lynch where he operated heavy equipment.

In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, crabbing, shooting pool and shooting sporting clays.  Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.

Jake is survived by his loving wife, Laura, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage; son: Kenny Sutton (Roxanne) of North East, MD; daughter: Jen Cichosz (James) of Howell, MI; his siblings: Ronald P. "Buck" Edwards of MO, Earle V. "Willie" Edwards of North East, MD, Hallie M. Edwards of Presto, PA and Linda J. Bungard of North East, MD; 11 grandchildren: John Henson, Tarra Swauger, Tanya Carter (Dan), Chad Cichosz (Lisa), Jillinn Wilson (Jason), Sabrina Olson (Dan), Jakob Cichosz (Morgan), Kyla Erickson (Trey), Cameron Cichosz, Abbrielle Cichosz, Macklin Cichosz; and 19 great grandchildren: William, Anthony, Michael, Victoria, Justin, Riley, Khyric, Allie, Lola, Kale, Josh, Kaleb, Sienna, Roan, Taya, Jolie, Raelyn, Hayley and Kaden.  He was also survived by many well-loved nieces, nephews and good friends.

In addition to his parents, Jake was also preceded by 2 brothers: Nelson Wayne Sutton and Francis “Luke” A. Edwards.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Bert Jicha will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held on Friday evening, from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations made payable to VFW Post 6027, in care of the funeral home.
