Charles Edward Morgan, 73 of Green Cove Spring, FL, formerly of North East, MD, died Wednesday, October 18, 2006 in the University Of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, MD. Born in Long Island, NY, on October 10, 1933, he was the son of the late Harold and the late Reta Mae Bridges Morgan. He was a Mechanical Engineer, employed by Morton Thiokol from 1959-1967 and 1978-1988, where he mixed and cast rocket propellant for the Submarine Rocket Program. From 1967 - 1972, he worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Limited Warfare Laboratories as a Special Operations Forces Military Advisor. From 1972 - 1978, he created and ran Underwater Problem Solvers, Inc., and was the Chief Engineer on the team that raised the Chauncy d'Pue Ferry from the North East Harbour. Most recently he was a Counselor at Upper Bay Counseling and Support Services UBC. Mr. Morgan was instrumental in the formation of New Directions, a support group for adults suffering from Bi-Polar and Depression, in Wilmington, DE. Mr. Morgan loved his mobile lifestyle between his R.V. and boat to explore. He also enjoyed attending Phillies games, visiting local attractions with UBC clients and spending time with his friends and family. Throughout his life, he encouraged and guided many friends to overcome the challenges of everyday life. Each one of those he touched meant the world to him. He is survived by his wife: Joan M. Morgan, North East, MD; Also by one son: Michael James Morgan of North East, MD; three daughters: Jaye Morgan Tower of Burlington, CT, Tina Morgan Ross of Royersford, PA and Reta Morgan Reynolds of Perryville, MD. And one brother: James T. Morgan of Brookside, DE. He is also survived by five grandsons. The Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 23, 2006 at 11:00 AM at North East United Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, MD. There will be a viewing on Sunday, October 22, 3006 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with a memorial service at 5:00 PM. Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will officiate. Interment will in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
