Charles Arthur Hostetler

Charles Arthur Hostetler, age 64, of Rising Sun, Maryland, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, Maryland. Born in Canton, Ohio, on September 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Galen Hostetler and Frances Prokup Hostetler. He was a resident of Cecil County for 30 years. In 1991, Mr. Hostetler founded, developed and was sole operator of WindDisplays, a promotional products business. He served in the U.S. Army from 1957 until 1960, attaining a rank of Sargent E-5, and served in the Reserves from 1974 until 1985. Mr. Hostetler attended Grace Bible Chapel for 25 years and currently attended Gateway Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, carpentry, and landscaping. He especially loved his yard and planting oak trees. Mr. Hostetler is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Eileen Hostetler, Rising Sun, Maryland; children, Carol A. Hostetler, Rising Sun, Maryland, Karen L. Hostetler, Waterford, New Jersey, JoAnn Leininger, and her husband, Tedd Leininger, Bath, Pennsylvania, Judy L. England, and her husband, Curtis England, Elkton, Maryland; grandchildren, Kendra Leininger, Kristin Leininger, and Kyle Leininger; and sister, Roberta Chambliss, Toms River, New Jersey. He is also survived by 2 nephews and 5 nieces. Funeral services will be held 7:30 PM, Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Grace Bible Chapel, 280 Old Zion Road, North East, Maryland, where visitation will start at 6:00 PM. Rev. David Landers, Rev. Stephen E. Schappert, and Rev. William Scott will officiate. A graveside service will be held with full military honors, 11:00 AM, Friday, June 25, 2004, in Rose Bank Cemetery, Rising Sun, Maryland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to help with the medical needs of his 3 year old grandson, Kyle Leininger, who has juvenile diabetes.
