Charles D. Dean, Sr., 76 of Elkton, MD, went Home to be with the Lord, and many beloved family and friends, on November 8, 2013 at Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.
Born in WV, on May 26, 1937, he was the son of the late Ray and the late Arvena (Pritt) Dean. He was the beloved husband of Gerrie Dean of Elkton, MD for 43 years.
He was the owner/operator of Charles D. Dean Excavating. He loved dogs, fishing, classic cars, flea marketing and was a real “horse trader”.
The main love of his life was his family. He loved big family get-togethers and his greatest desire was that they all would love one another. He was always worried about each one’s welfare and would take care of it at any cost.
He was known for his big hearted kindness, never meeting a stranger, and always offering a helping hand. He was always ready with a story or some “red neck advice.” He’d give anybody in need the shirt off his back.
He touched countless lives and will be missed greatly. “The greatest things in life are knowing where you are going when you die and leaving behind a good name.”
In addition to his loving wife, he leaves behind his children: Donna Dean of North East, MD, Sherry Tilghman (Doug) of Tampa, FL, Tammy Dean, and Charles D. "Buster" Dean, Jr. (Stephanie) of North East and Wendy McKenzie (Cory) of Elkton, MD; 2 sisters: Bernice Nickerson of Elkton, MD and Betty Sue Fritz of North East, MD; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and “Pop’s girl, bye gum”, the Rose Bud.
Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Dr. Allen P. Dickerson, Sr. will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where the family will receive guests from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m.
