Charles Thomas “Sandy” Bittman, 77 of North East, MD, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025.

Born in Baltimore, MD, on June 15, 1947, he was the son of the late Charles Francis and Mildred Marie (Vacek) Bittman.

Sandy served his country proudly in the U.S. Army.  He retired after many years of service working in IT and computers with Campbell Co., in the Finance Dept.

He enjoyed going camping, playing all kinds of games and flats from Pats Pizza. Sandy also enjoyed telling spicy jokes.

Survivors include his loving companion: Shirley Hawkins of North East, MD; 2 daughters: Michelle Chackerian and Dawn Cook both of Oakland, CA; his sister: Joan Venanzi of Abingdon, MD; stepchildren:  Brian Hawkins of Clarksburg, MD, Michele Henning of Leesburg, FL and Laura Williams of Havre de Grace, MD; 11 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Sandy was also preceded in death by his son: Chuck Bittman.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm.

Interment to follow in Bay View Cemetery, Bay View, MD.
