Charles Lewis Bean, Iii

Charles Lewis Bean, III, 85 of North East, MD, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at home with his loving family by his side.

Born in PA, on November 11, 1936, he was the son of the late Charles Lewis Bean, II and Hazel (Brooks) Bean.

He served his country proudly in the Army National Guard.

Charles retired from the DuPont Company, where he worked for many years as a Mechanical Engineer.

He received degrees from Temple and Widener Universities.  Charles was a passionate lifelong learner with a thirst for knowledge.  He was a talented cook and loved New England.  His Christian faith inspired many and he will be missed by his many friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Dorothy Bean; 4 sons: Charles L. Bean IV (Sharon) of Elkton, MD, David J. Bean (Lisa) of Elkton, MD, Michael R. Bean (Anne) of Colora, MD and Anthony Martinez (Marsha) of Middletown, DE; 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother: Robert J. Bean and sister: Ellie Benedetto.

Memorial service will be held Friday, March 18, 2022 at 5:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Seasons Hospice Foundation - AccentCare, in care of the funeral home.
