Charles R. Barber

Charles R. Barber, 84 of New Castle, DE, summer resident of Red Point, near North East, MD, died Friday, November 30, 2007. Born in Wilmington, DE, on October 16, 1923, he was the son of the late Lewis T. and the late Rebecca A. Davis Barber. He was the husband of the late Etta Deborah Barber who died on April 26, 2007. Mr. Barber served in the Air Force during World War II. He retired from General Motors after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Odd Fellows, Centreville, DE and enjoyed boating. He is survived by his sister: Jane C. Welch of North East, MD. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where family and friends may visit starting at 1:00 PM. Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will officiate. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
