Charles David Arnold Sr., of North East, Maryland, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026. He was born on April 27, 1943, in Benson, Maryland, to the late Virginia G. Arnold and W. Howard Arnold.
From a young age, Charles learned the value of hard work while helping his father on the farm. He later found his true calling as a Meat Manager, a profession he dedicated himself to for many years before retiring at the age of 79.
Affectionately known as Chuck, Pop, Poppi, and Great Pop, Charles was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He shared a beautiful love with his beloved wife, Bonnie, and together they celebrated 39 wonderful years of marriage on June 20. While he enjoyed his many hobbies, nothing brought him greater happiness than spending time with his family, always with Bonnie by his side.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie and their five children, Charles Arnold Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Fawn Grove, PA; Kimberly Hadry and her husband, Kenny, of Perryville, MD; Robert Rinehart and Meredith of Charlestown, MD; Melissa "Sissy" Halterman of Port Deposit, MD; and Michelle Privett and her husband, Andy, of Charlestown, MD.
He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Kayla, Magen, Brittany, Amanda, Philip, Kenny, Samantha, Tyler, Elizabeth, Alexis, Adam, Jonathon, Dayton, and Reese.
Charles was also blessed with many beloved great-grandchildren: Tristan, Mia, Savanna, Landon, Penelope, Kayden, Joshua, Jayce, Charles, Zoe, Philip, Axel, Rhett, Dax, David, Jameson, Rylee, Luke, Aria, Isabella, Delilah, and Baby Boy Leikam, each of whom brought him immense pride and joy.
He is also survived by his sister, Geneva Singleton of Baltimore, Maryland.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brother, Ernie Arnold, and his son-in-law, Randy Halterman Sr.
Charles will be remembered for his unwavering work ethic, his deep love for his family, and the kindness and strength he shared with everyone who knew him. His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.
A graveside service to honor and celebrate Charles's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026, at Rose Bank Cemetery, Brick Meeting House Road, Rising Sun, Maryland.
