Charles Walter Armour, Jr.

Charles Walter Armour, Jr., age 79, of Bay View, Maryland, died Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at his home.
Born in Bay View, Maryland, on May 1, 1924, he was a son of the late Charles Walter, Sr., and Georgiana Harrington Armour. He was a lifelong resident of Cecil County, Maryland.
Mr. Armour retired in 1987 after 28 years of service from the Chrysler Corporation. He owned a concession stand at Port Herman Beach and a grill in Chesapeake City, Maryland.
He served in the US Navy from June 4, 1943 until March 2, 1946 with the 82nd Seabees in the South Pacific.
He was a VFW Charter Member with Post 7687, Chesapeake City and the UAW Local 1183. He enjoyed crabbing, playing cards, gardening and dining out.
Mr. Armour is survived by his wife of 39 years, Evelyn M. Armour, Bay View, Maryland; his children, Charles R. Armour and his wife, Sandy, Bay View, Maryland, Denise M. Miles, and Candace G. Miller and her husband, John, Jr., all of North East, Maryland; son-in-law, Robert A. Miles, Sr., Newark, Delaware; grandchildren, Justin and Kailey Armour,
Christina and Robert Miles, Jr., Johnny, III., and Melissa Miller; siblings, Greta M. Cullum, North East, Maryland, Ralph E. Armour, Sr., Chesapeake City, Maryland and Gene "Weenie" Armour, Bay View, Maryland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Armour was preceded in death by three sisters, Sara E. Travers, Esther R. Lupfer and F. Erma Schofield; and one brother, Robert W. Armour.
Family and friends may call Sunday, August 17, 2003, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, August 18, 2003, at Crouch Funeral Home. The Rev. Sumner Jones of the Shelemiah Bethel United Methodist Church, Bay View, Maryland and Rev. Clifton Armour, Elkton, Maryland will officiate.
Interment will follow services in Ebenezer Cemetery, Rising Sun, Maryland.
