Charles A. Alford

Charles A. Alford, 76 of Elkton, MD, died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Winnfield, LA, on October 18, 1933, he was the son of the late Clarence L. and the late Jesse P. Lowe Alford. He was the husband of the late Joanna H. Alford who died Sept. 18, 2006. He served our country in the Navy for 20 years. Prior to his retirement, he was Director of Safety at Maryland Materials. Mr. Alford was a member of V.F.W. Post 6027, North East, MD and the American Legion Post 15, Elkton, MD. He enjoyed bowling and bowled with the Court House Bowling League. Survivors include his 4 children: Michael G. Alford of Elkton, MD, Elizabeth J. Baker of Wellesley, MA, Charles M. Alford of Elkton, MD and Susan A. Haslam of Asheville, NC; and 9 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 18, 2010 at 10:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
