Cathy Elaine Smith, 46 of North East, MD, died Sunday, September 26, 2004 at home.She was a loving wife and mother who is survived by her husband of 28 years, Rickey Smith; three children, Jessica Smith, Rickey D. Smith and Timothy Taylor; and one godson, Ethan Warren, all of North East, MD.She is also survived by her parents, Victor and Mary Crain of Elkton, MD.; one sister, Paula Bourkland and her husband Martin of North Carolina; and three brothers, Charles Kennedy and his wife Karen of Elkton, MD., Steve Kennedy and his wife Paula of North East, MD., and Tonto Kennedy of Rising Sun, MD.; twenty nieces and nephews and twenty-seven great nieces and nephews.Cathy was preceded in death by her daughter, Tonya Smith, and her father, Floyd Kennedy.Cathy was concerned about the well being of all children and she opened her home and her heart to those in need.Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 30, 2004 at 1:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where friends may call from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM the same day. The Rev. Conrad Cohen of the Church of the Attonement will officiate.Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Jacob and Samantha Memorial Fund, c/o County Bank, 1 South Main Street, North East, MD 21901
