Cathuel "Butch" Ashton Bowe, Jr.

Cathuel Ashton “Butch” Bowe, Jr., 72 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE.

He was born in O’ahu, HI, on May 21, 1952.

Butch served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam from 1969-1973.

He retired from Amtrak as a foreman and them from the MD Transportation Authority also as a foreman.

He was a member of VFW Post 6027, North East, MD, a lifetime member of the American Legion, a member of the Marine Corp League, and former member of Charlestown Fire Dept.

Butch loved to ride his Harley, and enjoyed playing cards, going to the casino, horse races, concerts, yard sales and the gun range.

He is lovingly survived by his wife: Jane (May) Bowe; three daughters: Caylin Poteet of Rising Sun, MD, Leora Poteet of Rising Sun, MD and Rayne Poteet of Chesapeake City, MD; and his siblings: Curtis Bowe (Karolyn), Corinne Bowe, Roxanne Davenport, Kevin Bowe, Sr. (Lisa) and Karen Castagno (Chris). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Butch was preceded in death by his first wife: Marjorie Ann (Laird) Bowe; his parents: Cathuel Ashton Bowe, Sr. and Juan Galon Bowe; a sister: Celeste Bowe; and a brother: Bradley Bowe.

Memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 7:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 6:00 pm.
