Catherine Irene Calvert

Catherine Irene Calvert, age 90 of Charlestown, MD, died at home on Tuesday, October 21, 2008. Born in Havre De Grace, MD, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. and the late Sarah K. Gilbert Hartzell of Aberdeen, MD. She retired in 1986 from RMR Corporation, Elkton, MD. She was a member of the Havre de Grace United Methodist Church, Havre de Grace, MD. She enjoyed family, friends, horse racing and playing the slots in Atlantic City. Survivors include her sons, Roger T. Calvert of Charlestown, MD and Robert L. Calvert of Perryville, MD; her daughters: Sarah M. Stanley and Judith A. Calvert of Charlestown, MD; twelve grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; three brothers, Robert Parker of Perryville, MD, Edwin Hartzell of Westminister, MD and Marland Hartzell of Baltimore, MD; three sisters, Reda Burk of Bel Air, MD, Wanda Leva of Annapolis, MD and Ellen Mckenna of Baltimore, MD. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roger H. Calvert; two sons, Gary R. and Charles W. Calvert and her brother, Lewis Hartzell. Arrangements conducted by Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD 21901. Memorial services, officiated by Rev. Mary Browne, will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2008 at St. John's United Methodist Church, 240 Market Street, Charlestown, MD. Interment will be private for family members following the memorial services at Angel Hill Cemetery, Havre de Grace, MD. Flowers are welcome. However, if desired, contributions may be made to St. John's United Methodist Church or Charlestown Fire Company, in care of the funeral home.
