Carrie Elizabeth Culley Richardson, went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2008, at the age of 85. "Boots" as her friends and family knew her, was born May 30, 1923 to the late Walter and the late Adviana Alexander Culley of North East. She graduated from North East High School in 1940. She worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground during World War II, often times driving a truck. She also worked at American Powder and Ordinance Products. In 1953 she moved to Florida and worked for Bendix Avionics until she retired. In 1993 she and her husband moved to Harrah, Oklahoma to be closer to her daughter. She was a member of Douglas Boulevard United Methodist Church in Oklahoma. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary and served in various offices, including President and Sergeant at Arms. She is survived by her husband, Albert; daughter, Diane Ward; two grandchildren, James Ward and Rajeana Gibson; five great-grandchildren, Zachary Ward, Will Gibson, Jadyn, Jaxyn, and Gabriel Ward; all of Oklahoma. She is also survived by four sisters, May Poore, Margaret Allen, Beulah Preston, Marie DiRubbio; one brother, Sonny Culley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held starting at 10:00 AM. Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will officiate. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East.
