Carolyn Frances Creswell

Carolyn Frances Creswell, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully passed away on May 2, 2025, at the age of 84 in her home in Elkton, MD.

Born on October 14, 1940, in Warriormine, WV, Carolyn lit up the lives of everyone she met with her vibrant spirit and infectious energy.  With a grand entrance that would turn heads, always in high fashion and fashionably late, Carolyn was the life of every gathering.

She loved to visit the beach, there at sunrise until sunset, she spent hours laughing, dreaming, and creating memories with family and friends.  Curious and playful, she was always excited to try new things and loved to start projects, at least some of which she finished!

She had a passion for music, dancing, and shopping, and could often be found surrounded by her favorite flowers, which reflected her colorful personality and love for life.  But the most important thing to Carolyn was her family.  She was never happier than when her family was near, and she only parted this earth after a train of visits from people who loved her.

Carolyn leaves behind her devoted husband, Charles Creswell, along with her cherished daughter, Sandra Keyes, and son-in-law, Richard of Elkton, MD. She leaves a legacy of love through her beloved grandchildren, Jason Smith and his wife, Christine Badalamenti Smith, of East Calais, VT, and Whitney Smith and her companion Cameron McKenzie of York, PA.

Carolyn also shared a special bond with her siblings, Billy Conn Whited of Hesperia, CA, Bobby Gerald Whited of Elkton, MD, Thelma Delores Wilmer of Earleville, MD, Jackie Boyd Corder of North East, MD, James Henry Corder of Elkton, MD, and Vickie Lynn Cox of Townsend, DE who will hold her memory dear.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her mother: Mabel R. Corder and stepfather: Henry Corder.

Instead of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to either Amedisys Hospice, Lupus Research Alliance, Cecil County Animal Services, or any other local animal rescue organizations in her memory, celebrating her spirit of giving and love for others.

Rest in peace, Carolyn. We’ll miss your warmth, your laughter, and your unforgettable presence.
