Caroline Gay Yates Hicks

Caroline Gay Yates Hicks, 69 of Elkton, MD, died Monday, November 10, 2008 in Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. Born in Garwood, WV, on August 9, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James and the late Fannie Derringer Ramsey. She was the beloved wife of William Lee Hicks of Elkton, MD. Caroline was a member of North East Faith Tabernacle. She loved her dogs. A loving mother and wife, she will be dearly missed by all. In addition to her husband, survivors include her children: Oma Osborne of Elkton, MD, Harold R. Yates, Jr. of Whitfield, VA, Alice Hart of Corbin, KY, Donna Albright of Woodstock, VA, Eva Smith of Irvine, KY, and Brian Yates, Sr. of Smyrna, DE; her siblings: Elmer Ramsey of Princeton, WV, Mary Jane Ramsey of Matoka, WV, and Sis Ramsey of MI; 16 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Friday, November 14, 2008 at 10:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends held Thursday evening, November 13, 2008 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday morning one hour before the service. Rev. Jason McCready will officiate. Interment will be private.
