Carole Ann Housel

Carole Ann Housel, 75, of Rising Sun, Maryland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in Newark, Delaware.

Born on January 14, 1951, in Baltimore, Maryland, Carole was the daughter of the late William Stitely and Gertrude Ruby Stitely.

Carole was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend. She found her greatest happiness in the people she loved and took pride in the family she built. She had a warm and caring nature, a generous heart, and a way of making those around her feel loved and welcomed. For Carole, some of life's greatest treasures were found in the simple moments shared with family and the memories made along the way.

A woman of remarkable creativity and patience, Carole found joy in crafting beautiful things with her hands. She had a particular love for quilting, cross-stitch, and making baby bonnets. Her talent and generosity were especially evident in the more than 5,000 baby bonnets she lovingly made over the years. Each one reflected the care and attention she gave to everything she created. Her handmade treasures became meaningful gifts for countless families and a beautiful reflection of the love she carried in her heart.

Carole will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, George C. Housel, Jr.; her granddaughter, Heather A. Phennegen and her husband, David; and her great-grandchildren, Emilee A. Phennegen, Elaina Phennegen, and Erica Phennegen. She was also eagerly looking forward to welcoming another great-grandchild, Ellie May, who is on the way. She leaves behind extended family and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kevin E. Myers.

Carole's life was one of love, creativity, family, and quiet acts of kindness. She gave so much of herself to the people around her, leaving behind not only cherished memories, but also countless handmade reminders of the love she so freely shared. Though her absence will be deeply felt, her love will continue through her family, the lives she touched, and the beautiful legacy she leaves behind.

A viewing will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland. A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. during the viewing.
