Burton E. Jackson, Sr., 73 of Elkton, MD, died suddenly Sunday, September 16, 2012 in Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA.
Born in Landenburg, PA, on June 25, 1939, he was the son of the late John E. and the late Eva M. (Boyd) Jackson.
He served his country admirably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Burton retired after 30 years of service as a Machine Tender for N.V.F. Yorklynn. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, race cars, traveling and camping.
Survivors include his loving wife: Joan C. Jackson of Elkton, MD; 2 sons: Burton E. Jackson, Jr. of Elkton, MD, Richard A. Jackson of Lincoln, DE; 2 sisters: Beatrice E. McCue of Shunk, PA, Buruus E. Needham of Avondale, PA; and 2 grand sons.
Burton was preceded in death by a brother: Basil E. Jackson.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Interment will follow services in Kemblesville Cemetery, Kemblesville, PA.
