Brandon Tobias Brinkley Nance

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brandon “Butter (Butter Bean)” Tobias Brinkley Nance, a beloved son, husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us unexpectedly on May 24, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on January 12, 1984, in Elkton, MD, Brandon embraced life with a warmth and creativity that touched everyone around him. His passion for working on cars mirrored his approach to life: dedicated, detailed, and deeply rooted in the joy of creation.

Brandon is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Vanreenen, of Elkton, MD, who stood by his side through life's journey, and their three cherished children: Teagan, Levi, and Adam, all of Elkton, MD. He was a devoted father who cultivated an atmosphere of love, laughter, and learning in their home. He also leaves behind his mother, Norma Brinkley Barclay (Stanley) of Rising Sun, MD; and his sister, Shannon Perkins of Elkton, MD. Brandon is further survived by his cherished nephew Aaron Nance of Rising Sun, MD, and his nieces, Chelsea and Hailey Perkins of Elkton, MD, all of whom held a special place in his heart. As well as his great-niece, Brooklyn Dove of Elkton, MD.

Brandon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Brinkley Sr. and Flossie Brinkley; aunt and uncle Brenda & John Rhoades; his uncles, Jasper Brewster, Jerry Hewitt, and William Tobias Brinkley Jr.

As we reflect on Brandon's life, we recall a man who was as kind as he was talented—a friend who would lend a hand, a father who instilled hope, and a husband who brought unwavering support. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

A celebration of life to honor Brandon will be held on a later date.

In light of the overwhelming love and support from the community, family members are seeking assistance with funeral expenses. Donations can be made to Crouch Funeral Home, 127 S Main Street, North East, 21901, allowing us to honor Brandon's life and creativity in a way that reflects his spirit.

We will forever cherish the memories we made with Brandon, and though he may have departed from this world, his love will resonate within us always. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty he created and the love he inspired.
