Betty June Shepherd

Betty June Demond Shepherd, 81 of North East, MD, died Sunday, April 13, 2008 in the Union Hospital of Cecil County, Elkton, MD. A lifelong resident of North East, she was born on January 13, 1927, the daughter of the late Ernest Leon Demond, Sr. and the late Bessie C. Jones Demond. She was the wife of the late James E. Shepherd who died on November 15, 2000. Mrs. Shepherd was a member of North East United Methodist Church, North East, MD, the Junior Board and the 5th District Ladies Aux. of Union Hospital of Cecil County. She enjoyed painting. She is survived by her brother: Norman J. Demond of North East, MD; her sister-in-law: Dorothy P. Witmer of North East, MD; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two brothers: Albert Demond and E. Leon DeMond, Jr. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD with visitation for family and friends starting at 10:00 AM. Rev. Daniel T. Gedman will officiate. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: The Junior Board of UHCC, in care of the funeral home.
