Betty L. (Heverin) Hammons

Betty L. Hammons, 78 of Rising Sun, MD, died Saturday, January 20, 2018 in the Heartland Hospice House.

Born in North East, MD, on March 3, 1939, she was the daughter of John and Frances (Foraker) Heverin.

She was a homemaker, who enjoyed bingo, scratch off lottery tickets and her dog, “Stinky”.

Survivors include her husband: William R. “Bill” Hammons; daughter: Juanita "Cindy" Hammons (David) of Middletown, DE; and son: Bubby Hammons (Barbara) of North East, MD. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Jennifer, Krystal, Jessie, Justin, Ashley and Little Bubby; and 12 great grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her great granddaughter: Lillian Reid and all her siblings: John, Pauline, Butch, Judy, Eddie and Walter.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Funeral service, conducted by Father John Schaefer, will begin at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
