Bertha Marjorie Lockard Reedy

Bertha Marjorie Lockard Reedy Bertha M. Lockard Reedy, age 60, of Elkton, MD, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2006, at home. Born in Harford County, MD on September 9, 1945, she was the daughter of the Late Mary Elizabeth Simpers and the James David Lockard. Bertha worked as a cashier for Valu Food in Elkton for 11 years. She loved playing bingo, traveling, playing the slots at Atlantic City, dolphins, and the beach, but she cherished her grandchildren. She made sure to be at all the important events in their lives and she made sure they wanted for nothing. Survivors include her daughter and their husbands, Bonnie L. and Daniel Jester, and Ginny and Jay Quinn, all of Elkton, MD; granddaughter, Sarah E. Yearwood and her husband John, of Honolulu, HI; grandsons, Mark and Kyle McIntire, and Brian Martin, all of Elkton, MD; Siblings, Mary Walker, Mable Futty, John Lockard, Howard Lockard, Florence Williams; and her dear cousin, Mable Ann Harrington; as well as numerous nieces an nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Reedy, who died in 2004; her son, Steven Reedy; brother, Henry; and sister, Carol Boone. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2006, at 12:00 PM, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, prior to services. Rev. Martin Wiley of Wesley United Methodist Church will officiate services. Interment will be in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton, MD.
