Bertha Elizabeth Blevins

Bertha Elizabeth Blevins, 87 of Port Deposit, MD, died Saturday, November 14, 2009 in the Harford Memorial Hospital, Havre de Grace, MD. Born in Port Deposit, MD, on August 8, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd A. and the late Josephine Jackson Nickle. Mrs. Blevins was a loving wife for 69 years to Judson A. Blevins, of Port Deposit, MD. She held various administrative positions at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Bainbridge Naval Training Center, and Harford Memorial Hospital in Medical Records. A wonderful mother, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed winters in Florida, collecting anything with a chicken on it, antiquing and decorating her home. She made the best rice pudding and spaghetti. In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by: two daughters: Susan Johnson and her husband Scotty of Elkton, MD, Sharon Kerns and her husband Michael of Perryville, MD; one sister: Nancy Williams and her husband Earl of Stuart, VA; 5 grandchildren: Kimberly Golly, Timothy Patchell, Christopher Johnson, Jill Lee and David Buegel; and 11 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Darla Jean Buegel. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 19, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in Hopewell Cemetery, Port Deposit, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: American Cancer Society, in care of the funeral home.
