Bernice Elizabeth (Eldreth) Scott

Bernice Elizabeth Scott, 87 of Elkton, MD, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Born in Lansing, NC, on April 17, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Will and Celia (Stike) Eldreth.

Before retirement, Bernice worked as a school bus aide for Jim Bench. She was a member of the VFW Post 8175 Elkton Ladies Auxiliary, Maranatha Baptist Church in Elkton, MD and Extension Homemakers in Texas.

She is survived by her two sons: Bruce Nelson, Jr. of Wilmington, DE and Eugene H. Scott, Jr. of Austin, TX; and her sister: Ruby Stanwood of Port O’Connor, TX.

In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her first husband: Eugene Howard Scott, Sr.; and husband: Bruce Nelson, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 1:00 pm Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
