Bernard C. Hypes, Jr.

Bernard C. Hypes, Jr., 69 of Elkton, MD, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at home.

Born in Bluefield, VA, on May 23, 1948, he was the son of the late Bernard C., Sr.  and Helen Gladys (Whitt) Hypes.  He was the husband of the late Erline J. (Palmer) Hypes who passed in 2003.

After 30 years of service as an Assembler, Bernard retired from GM, Wilmington, DE.

He is survived by one son: Budd Hypes of Wilmington, DE; two sisters: Sharon McMillan (Arthur) of Elkton, MD and Vina Bright (Harry) of Blackbird, DE; and five grandchildren.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was also preceded in death by two sons: Joe Hypes and Bernard Hypes, III.

Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Ron Silverman will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until service.

Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, Wilmington, DE.
