Barry Dale Ritzel, Sr.

Barry Dale Ritzel, Sr., age 58, of North East, Maryland, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2004, at home. Born in Elkton, Maryland, on January 9, 1946, he was a son of the late John D. "Slim" Ritzel and Alice M. Lynch Ritzel. He was a lifelong resident of Cecil County, Maryland. Mr. Ritzel was a self-employed mechanic and a well known musician. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. Mr. Ritzel was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 6027, North East, Maryland, and the American Legion Post 135, Perryville, Maryland. He enjoyed music, especially Blue Grass and Karaoke. Mr. Ritzel is survived by his companion, Denise Stromberg, North East, Maryland; sons, Barry D. Ritzel, Jr., and his wife, Cheryl of Dacula, Georgia, and John B. Ritzel of Alpharetta, Georgia; siblings, Linda Halsey, Elkton, Maryland, Elaine Birney, Alan Ritzel, and Mary Ann Kennedy, all of North East, Maryland; and a granddaughter, Ashton Ritzel. Family and friends may call from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, June 3, 2004, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, Maryland. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 4, 2004, at the funeral home. The Rev. Mark Johnston of Brandywine Valley Worship Center, Talleyville, Delaware, will officiate. Interment will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Rising Sun, Maryland.
