Barney Thomas, Jr.

Barney Thomas, Jr., age 77, of Port Deposit, MD, died Thursday, October 9, 2003, in the University of MD Hospital, Baltimore, MD. Born in Jordan, Montana, on March 21, 1926, he was a son of the late Barney, Sr. and Nancy A. Kennedy Thomas. Mr. Thomas retired from the U.S. Government after 30 years of service as a test driver and he was a mechanic for Henkels McCoy, Rising Sun, MD. He served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Harmony Lodge # 53 A.F. & A.M., Port Deposit, MD and the Eastern Star. Mr. Thomas was the husband of the late, Alice Elizabeth Thomas, who died November 23, 2000. He is survived by his children, Nancy E. Green, Elkton, MD, Barney Thomas, III., Hagerstown, MD, Lynn E. Thomas, Conowingo, MD, Barbara Pasqual, Forest Hill, MD and David A. Thomas, Port Deposit, MD and 4 grandchildren; Brandi Thomas, Michael Green, Brandon Thomas and Alexis Pasqual. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 13, 2003, at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Family and friends are invited to visit from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM, with a Masonic Service and a Eastern Star service at 8:00 PM, Sunday, October 12, 2003, at the funeral home. Rev. Robert Riddleberger of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Colora, MD will officiate. Interment will follow services in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Colora, MD.
