Barbara Ann (Simmons) Shivery
A lifelong resident of Cecil County, she was born in Elkton on September 9, 1937 the daughter of the late Ellis Charles and the late Ruth A.M. (Veasey) Simmons. She was the wife of the late Herbert R. Shivery Sr. who preceded her in death by 14 days.
Barbara worked as a seamstress for Nanette’s and Lass Associates. She had also worked in the cafeteria at North East High School.
She is survived by her children: Herbert R. Shivery, Jr. and wife Nancy of Belcamp, MD, Donna Walters and husband Tom of Abingdon, MD and Charles Shivery of North East, MD; her sister: Betty M. Simmons Fayer of Perryville, MD; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: John W. and Mary E. (Dick) Simmons; her maternal grandparents: Morris and Mary A. (Moore) Veasey; and half-sister: Linda L. Simmons Henderson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 12, 2013 at 7:30 PM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where the family will receive guests from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, in care of the funeral home.
