Arnold Edward Horn

Arnold Edward Horn, 80 of Rising Sun, MD, passed away at home with his family by his side on Sunday, February 10, 2008. He was born in Grundy, VA, on March 8, 1927, and moved to MD in 1928. He was the son of the late Elihu K. and the late Octavia Compton Horn. Mr. Horn served in the Army during World War II as a Corporal Tech 5. By trade, he was a carpenter, like his heavenly father. In his spare time he could be found at the river fishing. He was a member of the American Legion Post 194 of Rising Sun for 36 years. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Margery Hill Horn; and his children: Edward Horn, Sr. and his wife Nancy of Rising Sun, MD; Carol Parker and her husband Bill of North East, MD; Ann Simmons and her husband John; Bonnie Horn; and Brenda Snider and her husband Bill all of Rising Sun, MD; a daughter-in-law: Wendy Horn of New York, NY; 6 grandchildren: Vicky Horn; Eddie Horn, Jr. and his wife Carmen; Holly Snider; Billy Snider all of Rising Sun, MD; Jerry Horn, Jr. and Nicholas Horn both of Wilmington, DE; He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren: Kelsey, Zachary and Joshua Horn; and 1 step great grandson; Matthew Adams, all of Rising Sun, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Jerry Horn, Sr.; a grandson: David B. Carpenter; his brother Elmer; and his sisters Janet and Joan Hill. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 14, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends starting at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
