Anna Rose Oesterbo, 85, of North East, MD, passed away on March 9, 2025 at her home. She was born on July 6, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA to the late John and Juliana Thomas.
Anna was the proud mother of three sons, Ronald J. Oesterbo Jr. (wife Judy), John C. Oesterbo, and Robert M. Oesterbo, who were the center of her world. She instilled in her boys the value of family, integrity, and perseverance, and her pride in them knew no bounds.
In addition to her sons, she is survived by her grandchildren: Alesha, John Matthew, Joshua, and Aaron; as well as her great-grandchildren: Marci, Parker, Caleigh, and Logan who affectionately referred to her as “Nanny”. She also leaves many other family members and friends all of whom will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.
Anna lived a life rich with purpose and care, traveling caring for her children in their early years. Anna entered the workforce later in life as a dedicated employee at Blue Chip until they closed in 1995 and retired from W.L. Gore after 25+ years of service.
Anna was a talented seamstress, crocheter, and gardener. Anna will be remembered for her simplistic living, words of wisdom, and remarkable strength.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John Thomas; her sisters Mary Yetter and Julia Thomas who welcomed her into eternal rest.
The family is celebrating Anna’s life and memory in private.
