Alan Drew Wright

Alan Drew Wright went home to be with Lord on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024. Alan was born in Cecil County Maryland on August 1st, 1961 to the late Floyd Eldridge Wright and Iva Myrtle (Sexton) Wright.

Alan was a dedicated and devoted participant of Bayside Community Network, Inc. for 38 years. Alan participated in the variety of programs offered and always had a smile and a kiss for those that helped him.

Alan was always friendly and Happy. Kind by nature and loving to those that showed him tenderness and care.

Alan was a simple man, loving the little things in life. He had a special appreciation for Gilligan’s Island, I Love Lucy, Banana’s, Chocolate Milk, Batman, and watching Penguins on TV.  He especially loved “Hamburger Pancake”.  He loved to arm wrestle and would challenge anyone willing. He has been crowned the undefeated BCN Arm Wrestling Champion.

Alan was known as a Ladies Man, taking the hand of any lady who passed and sharing a kiss. Alan loved to dance and would wrangle any unsuspecting female onto the dance floor. It is no wonder his favorite song was Oh Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison.

Alan is survived by three sisters: Shirley Asbury, Ethel Mash both of Elkton, MD and Iva Ruby Simmons of Baltimore, MD; two brothers: Fred Wright of Elkton, MD and Lonnie Wright of NC. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers Ralph Lee Wright and James Wright.

Over the years, Alan touched the lives of so many and will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He will especially be missed by Marvin, David, Andrew and the direct care staff that supported him lovingly until the end.

Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Cheri Dupree, will be held Thursday, October 17, 2024 at 10 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am.

Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD
