Alan Charles Weaver, 59, of North East, MD passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Alan was born on December 18, 1955 in Elkton, MD.

He was the son of James D. Weaver, Jr. and Lita Fay Weaver (Levredge).

Alan is survived by his fiancé, Ada Lynn Crabtree, his mother, Fay Weaver, his brother, David Weaver (Denise), and sister, Lynn Weaver Campbell (Hugh), along with his sidekick, Winston Weaver, all of North East, MD.

He was predeceased by his father, James D. Weaver Jr. and his brother Donald Weaver.
After graduating from North East High School in 1973, he attended Washington College
in Chestertown, MD.

Alan still lived on the family farm where he was raised and worked relentless hours with
his father and brothers.

Since he was about 10 years old he worked at the family business, Weaver's Liquors and later
became owner of Weaver's Plum Creek Market in Hances Point, MD.

Alan made countless lifelong friendships while at Plum Creek. He treasured every customer,
knew everyone by name and had an unparalleled memory of their needs. They shared stories of
sports, fishing, hunting and everyday life in a small town. People were drawn to Alan by his
intellect, wit and BIG heart. He was kind, generous and sensitive.

Alan also had many childhood friends and school classmates whom he loved and respected.
Their stories were endless and hilarious. Bantering with his best buddies was what he enjoyed
the most, though. There was always an "argument" as to who was the "biggest liar" and only one liar
at a time was allowed in Plum Creek.

His dad taught him to hunt at an early age and like his father was particularly fond of goose hunting. Fishing was another favorite pastime especially on the North East River, the flats and in the Everglades. Perhaps one of his greatest pleasures was looking for and catching snakes. This he had done since he was a small boy; many times with Uncle Terry. Alan and Uncle Terry could match each other, snake for snake. He had no fear of any snake and was known to catch even the most poisonous.
Alan and Ada enjoyed taking day trips to Amish country. They also enjoyed visiting wildlife refuges and state parks up and down the east coast. Together they bird watched, searched for sea glass and enjoyed the wildlife.

Alan was well known for his wealth of knowledge of many subjects and also his fantastic memory.  He will be so missed by so many. Who will we call when we need to know who played in what movie, or who won what game in 1985, or who sang what song?

Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Bob Appleton will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where the family will receive guests on Monday evening, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
Interment will follow services in Bay View Cemetery, North East, MD.
