Wayne Eugene Howell

Wayne Eugene Howell, 52 of North East, MD, died Saturday, October 18, 2008 in the University of Pittsburgh Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. A lifelong resident of Cecil County, He was born in Elkton, MD, on May 12, 1956, the son of Eugene W. Howell of North East, MD and the late Mildred C. Crouch Howell. Mr. Howell was the beloved husband of Karla A. Howell of North East, MD. He retired from Maryland State Highways as a Supervisor. A member of the Men's Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post 6027, North East, MD and the Eagle Hunting Club, he enjoyed fishing and hunting with his nephew Greg. He also liked to play baseball, and greatly enjoyed playing with his grandsons. In addition to his loving wife and father, survivors include: one daughter: Katelyn A. Howell of North East, MD and one son: Justin W. Howell and his wife Kathleen of North East, MD; his siblings: Cheryl A. Dixon of Elkton, MD, Linda L. Hudson of North East, MD, Patsy H. Meck of Carthage, TX, Barbara J. Monger of Rising Sun, MD, Glenn A. Howell of North East, MD; and 3 grandsons: James Wayne, Ryan Justin and Davin George. Funeral service will be held Thursday, October 23, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and again from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Rev. Sumner Jones and Rev. Mary Browne will officiate. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the College Endowment Fund, c/o the funeral home.
