Eleanor M. Alexander

Eleanor M. Alexander, 84 of North East, MD, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at home. Born in Honey Brook, PA, on July 16, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Edgar C. and the late Edith Blanche Griffith Miller. She was the wife of the late John H. Alexander who died on March 25, 2006. Mrs. Alexander retired from W.L. Gore where she worked in housekeeping at the Fair Hill Site. She loved gardening in her yard. Survivors include her children: Walter B. Alexander and his wife Reta of Pleasant Hill, MD, Betty Marshall and her companion Frank Kline, Sr. of North East, MD and Ronald Alexander and his wife Mei Chen of North East, MD; 2 sisters: Ruth Alexander of North East, MD, Doris Whitekettle of Ephrata, PA; 14 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by a son: John David "Jackie' Alexander; a grandson, Jimmie Lee Marshall, Jr.; and 6 brothers: Edgar C. Miller Jr., John M. Miller, Charles W. Miller, Sr., Bud A. Miller, Lester W. Miller and Carl R. Miller, Sr. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Bert Jicha will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation for family and friends beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to the charity of your choice.
