Deborah Sue Blackburn

Deborah Sue Blackburn, 57 of Chesapeake Isles, North East, MD, died Friday, July 24, 2009 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE. Born in Havre de Grace, MD, on April 5, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Homer and the late Annabel Blakely Yates. Debbie was the beloved wife of Robert L. Blackburn of North East, MD. She graduated from Highland View Academy, Hagerstown, MD in 1970, where she served as Class President. She was a Teacher at Tendercare, North East, MD. Debbie enjoyed life, nature and reading. She loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. In addition to her loving husband, survivors include her children: Robyn L. Blackburn, Timothy M. Blackburn and William C. Blackburn all of North East, MD; a stepson, Robert A. "Robby" Blackburn and his wife Kelly of Yorktowne, VA; a granddaughter, Emma E. Ellingsworth of North East, MD and two step grandchildren: Ashtyn Blackburn and Chase Blackburn; a sister: Linda Showers of Davidsonville, MD and her longtime friend, Carol Slone of Perryville, MD Funeral service will be held Friday, July 31, 2009 at 11:00 AM at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, where visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
