Paul Lindberg Phipps, 91 of Elkton, MD, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018 in the Seasons Hospice Unit of Franklin Square, Baltimore, MD.
Born in Wrightsdale, PA, on July 11, 1927, he was the son of the late Verner Paul and Pansey Adelade (Johnston) Phipps.
Mr. Phipps served his country proudly during World War II in the U.S. Navy as a Fireman First Class.
He retired from Aberdeen Proving Ground, where he worked as a mechanic and maintenance chief. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, crabbing and bluegrass music.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years: Lillian Messina (Cochran) Phipps; 6 children: Richard Phipps, Ronald Phipps both of North East, MD, Barry Phipps (Peggy) of Crystal Beach, TX, Judy Layaou (Fred) of Bear, DE, Patricia Phipps and Cathy Thomas (Dale) both of Elkton, MD; one brother: Hal Phipps (Shirley) of Peach Bottom, PA; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother: James Phipps.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to memorial services on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. There will be a visitation beginning at 10:30 am.
Private interment will be in West Nottingham Cemetery, Colora, MD.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to Seasons Hospice Foundation, in care of the funeral home.
