Pastor Ralph D. Massie, 80 of North East, MD, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Besoco, WV, on June 21, 1937, he was the son of the late Hosie and Gladys Victoria (Crawford) Massie.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army.
Pastor Massie was pastor of North East Church of God for over 25 years. Prior to his calling at North East Church of God, Pastor Massie served for 7 years in Annapolis, MD and over 17 years in Boonsboro, MD building churches and Christian Academies in both locations. Pastor Massie loved the community and serving the Church of God. He served on state council, which was the highest elective board, the youth council and campground committee, and he was construction foreman for Reva Farms, Annapolis, MD.
He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed carving decoys. He kept an immaculate, beautiful yard. He enjoyed visiting folks in the hospital and brightening their day.
Survivors include: his loving wife of 60 years: Julia Gail (Delp) Massie; two daughters: Renee D. Hose of Cape Coral, FL and Deana D. Jonak of Plymouth, MA, and one son: Darin D. Massie of Cleveland, TN; brother of: Lonnie Massie (Nora) of AZ, Evelyn Patrick of Grandview, WV, Eileen Bryant (Lovell) of McKees Rocks, PA; 8 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers: Pat, Bobby and Jerry Massie.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.
Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Harold Bowman will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11:00 am at North East United Methodist Church, 308 South Main Street, North East, MD.
Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to honor Pastor Massie to North East Church of God, in care of the funeral home.
