John Joseph “Jack” Cassidy, Jr., 72 of North East, MD, passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at home with his wife and all his children.
Born in Chester, PA, on May 26, 1944, he was the son of the late John J. Cassidy, Sr. and Florence (Miley) Cassidy.
Jack worked for DuPont Chambers Works starting in the early 1970s as a Supervisor in support of the Viton operation located in Deepwater, NJ and held various technology positions throughout his career until his retirement in 2011.
Jack was a very giving person and always looked out for his family. He loved music and technology and always supported the interests of his children and grandchildren. He invested time in his own and others’ kids coaching little league baseball in New Castle, DE for several years and built a PA system for the music he, his wife and children played together. He was very involved in the Chesapeake Isle Civic Association. His wife and five children will always carry with them the love and kindness Jack always showed in taking care of them.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years: Frances J. Cassidy: their children: John J. Cassidy IV of Newark, DE and his children: Jade, Emerald and Jewel, Scott D. Cassidy and wife, Christina of Carlisle, PA and their children: Scott Jr., Matthew, Mekayla, Mekinzey, Mekenna and Mekaylee, Karie L. Austin and husband Chris Hawley of North East, MD and their daughter: Kassidy, Christopher M. Cassidy of Dacula, GA and his children: Lochlen, Lucian and Liam, Jason W. Cassidy of North East, MD; a sister: Cynthia Bibb of West Chester, PA; a brother: Terrance Cassidy of Trainer, PA; and 4 great grandchildren: Rhiannon, Max, Asher and Aiden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Garry Cassidy.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 10:00 am until service time.
Interment will follow in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
