Hello to Joan's family - I was passing by Joan's home on August 3, 2017...and thought of her...by chance, today - 8/4/2017 - I saw that she had passed away while I was away on business in Dallas, TX..as a family, we loved Joan - both our now very successful children, are dyslexic, and Joan was a significant help to them with their studies. I saw her in the parking lot of Food Lion last year, I believe - I gave her a big hug...I send blessings and prayers to you all...Joan loved you all so much. God has a great new angel, shedding some loving goodness on you all.

So sorry to hear of Joan's passing. She was a strong and lovely lady . I knew Joan through Boy Scouts as my husband scout master and her sons were active in scouting as was Joan. Prayers for her family!

We were close neighbors of Joan for over 20 years until we moved away in Dec 2014 . She was a quiet lady who lived alone with her cats each of which she tended to lovingly. She will always remain in our memories
