James Monroe Lockett went home to be with the Lord on June 28, 2017.

James was born in Baltimore, MD on September 26, 1930 to the late Abraham and Anne Mae Lockett.

He was a dedicated and devoted participant of Bayside Community Network, Inc. for 35 years. During his time with Bayside, James worked on various projects and developed many close and endearing friendships.  It can be agreed on by all that James was happy and led a fulfilling life.

James had a beautiful voice and enjoyed sharing his gift by singing gospel hymns. He enjoyed reading, going for leisurely strolls, eating and being with those he cared for. James had a sly sense of humor and an unflappable personality. His happiest days were spent watching people while drinking a cup of coffee and enjoying a peppermint patty.

He is survived by his sister-in-law: Ruth Lockett; and preceded in death by his sister: Rachelle Lockett, brother: Thomas Lockett, and brother: Abraham Lockett. He will be deeply missed by all the members of his Bayside family.

Funeral services, conducted the Rev. Cheri Dupree, will be held on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, 127 South Main Street, North East, MD. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 pm.

Interment will follow in North East United Methodist Cemetery in North East, MD.
