Bayne R. Rector, Sr., 95 of Salisbury, MD, formerly of North East, MD died Saturday, October 29, 2016 in his daughter’s home.

Born in Sparta, NC, on June 23, 1921, he was the son of the late Robert and Lura (Edwards) Rector.  He served during World War II in the US Army.   

Before his retirement he was a Carpenter, employed by Aberdeen Proving Ground. Bayne loved his family and the Lord. He enjoyed woodworking and activities in his church, The North East Church of the Nazarene. There is a plaque located at the entrance of Mr. Rectors home: “As for me and my house we will serve the Lord” Joshua 24:15.

Mr. Rector is survived by his daughter: Vicki Beth Miller of Salisbury, MD; son: Bayne R. Rector, Jr. of Fairfax, VA; sister: Lola Smith of Sparta, NC; grandchildren:  Shannon, Kyle, Kristen, and Kelly Rector, Timothy Justin and Matthew Robert Miller. He is also survived by great-grandchildren: Siena, Cole, Greyson, Abel, Ava, Madison and Jackson.

Bayne is preceded in death by his wife: Edith E. Rector; son: Rev. David Neil Rector and daughter: Sheila Day Rector.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:30 am at North East Church of the Nazarene, 133 South Main Street, North East, MD. The family will welcome guests from 10:00 am until service time.

Interment with full military honors will follow the service in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.
