Mary Edna Short was born on April 12, 1946 in Twin Falls, Idaho to the late Mae Edith and Delbert Dallas Morton.  She married Theodore Short in 1975. Theodore “Shorty” Short preceded her in death. Mary departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 13, 2017.

Mary was a dedicated and devoted participant of Bayside Community Network, Inc. for 39 years. During her tenure, she worked on various projects and developed many close and endearing friendships. Mary was a hard worker, never missing time from work. She was known for the quality and precision of her work. Mary met every work day with a smile.

Mary had many hobbles and interest. She spent much of her time doing embroidery, but found time to garden, feed and watch birds and enjoy her favorite TV shows. Mary was talented at dominos’ which she played religiously every Friday night.  Mary was always willing to help those around her; raising money and collecting items for local food shelters, families in need and military men and women stationed overseas. Her greatest joy was found in the companionship of her friends and neighbors.  Mary valued these friendships and considered her friends to be family.

Mary is survived by her close friends: Shelia Freed, Coral Wright, Cathie Moore, Ed Dougherty, Helen Fettweis and Judy Bines. Mary will be deeply missed by all the members of her Bayside family.

Memorial Services, conducted by the Rev. Cheri Dupree, will be held Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:00 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD.

Interment will be private.
