JoAnn Bernadette Filing (Stutz), 79 of Whitehall, PA, formerly of Nottingham, PA passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown, PA.

Born in Shamokin, PA, on December 23, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Stella (Olshefski) Stuchinski.

Mrs. Filing worked as a bookkeeper for Dr. Michael Lipman, Cherry Hill, MD and also at North East Enterprises.

She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren grow and loved all of her family dearly.

Survivors include her children: Charles Smith (Mary) of Rising Sun, MD, Wanetta Naylor of North East, MD, Stephen Smith of Oxford, PA and Michele Filing Toth (Scott) of Whitehall, PA; one sister: Marie Koutsouros of Whitehall, PA and one brother: Thomas Stuczynski (Janet) of Dansville, NY; a nephew: Eric Stuczynski of Ranshaw, PA; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband: Frederick R. Filing; and a son: Timothy T. Smith.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, December 23, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MD School of the Blind or the Lions Club of North East, both in care of the funeral home.
