Jean Loving McMillion, 90 of North East, MD, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017 at HeartHomes in Pasadena, MD.

Born in WV, on March 18, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick William Loving and Sophie Susan (Bowen) Loving.

Mrs. McMillion began teaching at age 18, due to so many teachers being drafted during World War II. She taught grades 1-8 in a one room school. During this time she attended night school and attended classes every summer to complete her Bachelor’s degree. Later in life she returned to college in the evenings and eventually received a Masters Equivalency, for education in reading fundamentals. After 44 years of teaching she retired from Cecil County Public Schools. After retiring from education, she served as a missionary in Bolivia. She was a faithful member of Grace Bible Chapel, and was a devoted supporter of the church. She could be seen at Grace Bible Chapel most Sundays, singing hymns and sharing in fellowship.

She is survived by her daughters: Susan Lynn Benoit, Janice Leigh Yackanech; her grandchildren: Joshua Caleb Carr, Joseph Michael Yackanech, Adam Lee Yackanech, Sarah Elizabeth Carr, and John Ezra Yackanech; her 6 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
