“Freddie”
Freddie Kleiner, 34, of Imperial Beach, CA, died Sunday, April 2, 2017. The son of Fred and Linda Kleiner of North East, MD, Freddie was born on December 11, 1982.
A graduate of The Tome School, Freddie received a music scholarship and attended UMBC. In 2009, he moved to Imperial Beach where he worked for TJP Engineering as an IT Specialist/Drafter.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters: Sara Julian, Leesburg, VA; Kathryn Meredith and husband Charles, Middletown, DE; Emilie Kleiner, Baltimore; his nephews: Jacob and Matthew Meredith; his beloved cat KiKi, and many good friends between Maryland and California.
He enjoyed an eclectic variety of music, played piano, sang, and taught himself drums and guitar. Many remember him as a musical genius. He loved to learn new things, and that resulted in many self-taught accomplishments and passions, including competitive billiards, cutting-edge software, cooking, wellness, and philosophy. He researched alternative treatments for Parkinson’s Disease in order to lovingly support his father.
Freddie had a distinctive East Coast/West Coast style. He was chicken and dumplings and burritos, Yuengling and Lagunitas, sweaters and flip flops. Most of all, he was a giver, a solution seeker, a guy who knew you deep down and selflessly attended to those he loved. Freddie had a servant’s heart, and if he loved you, you knew it. He was humble and kind, expressing his love through thoughtfulness and words. He connected with others through his open heart, a special heart with endless love to give.
A celebration of Freddie’s life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, April 8 at Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church, 392 Blake Road, Elkton, MD 21921, where friends and family may visit at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
