Dorothy Lillian Ashbridge, 97 of Elkton, MD, completed her journey and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2017. She departed peacefully at home with her loving family by her side.

Born in Richardson Park, DE, on September 17, 1920, she was the daughter of the late William T. Russell, Sr. and Lillian (Clymer) Russell.  She was the wife of the late George Holland Ashbridge.

Mrs. Ashbridge retired from McDaniel’s Yacht Basin, where she worked as a secretary for over 20 years.

She was a member of North East United Methodist Church, North East, MD.  Traveling and wintering in Ft. Myers, FL were two of her favorite things.  Most of all she loved her family and the time spent with them.  Her grandchildren were a great enjoyment to her.

Survivors include her children:  Ronald Carl Ashbridge of Elkton, MD and Vicki Lynn Maxwell (George) of Chesapeake City, MD; a sister: Anna May Eldredge of Fort Myers, FL; 5 grandchildren: Rebecca Ashbridge Stecher, Timothy G. Maxwell, Amy Beth Ashbridge Hash, Angela Maxwell and Ryan C. Ashbridge; 9 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by 2 brothers: William T. Russell, Jr. and Harry C. Russell.

Funeral service will be held Monday, November 20, 2017 at 11:30 am at Crouch Funeral Home, P.A., 127 South Main Street, North East, MD, with visitation beginning one hour prior to service time.

Interment will follow services in North East Methodist Cemetery, North East, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amedisys Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
